Holiday Fun for Kids: Santa’s Workshop & Storytime!
The Youth Services Department will host Santa’s Workshop at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, offering cocoa and ornament crafting—a perfect hands-on holiday activity for children and families.
Then at 2:00 p.m., Santa will arrive at the library as a very special storytime guest! Children can enjoy a visit and photo opportunity, and will receive free books (for ages newborn–8, while supplies last).
Getting Festive on the Library’s New Stage!
Celebrate the sounds of the season as holiday happenings begin on the library’s new top-floor performance stage at 1:00 p.m. on December 13. Enjoy a special performance by the mixed chorus of Central Wilkes Middle School, featuring talented 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. This concert is made possible through a collaborative grant program between the Wilkes County Public Library, the Wilkes Art Gallery, and the North Carolina Arts Council through the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
Following the student performance, stay for a community jam led by the Wilkes Acoustic Folk Society, presenting their traditional holiday concert at 2:00 p.m. Local musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments and join the fun.
Refreshments will be provided, and families of all ages are welcome. If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, you won’t want to miss this festive afternoon at the library!
