Welcome to StudentAccess

Wilkes County Schools and the Wilkes County Public Library are partnering to support students’ ongoing education. We share the belief that a love of books and learning is a strong foundation for student success and we are working together to provide every Wilkes student access to books and resources found at their public library.

Beginning October 9, 2017, all Wilkes County students will be able to use their Student ID number to access and borrow public library books and resources. We are calling this initiative StudentAccess.

StudentAccess FAQ

StudentAccess participants may borrow up to 10 books or audio-books from the Wilkes  County Library or Traphill Branch Library.  No late fees will be charged for these items, however replacement costs for lost or damaged item may be assessed.

You can access your account at any time by logging in with your student or teacher identification number and PIN. The default PIN for a StudentAccess account  is the last 4 digits of your Student ID number.   Here's a short video that explains how to login to your library account from home.  Click here!

StudentAccess participants are also able to access our collection of digital content.  This includes a great selection of ebooks, e audio books, and video.   For more information on using our digital collections such as downloadable e books or e audio-books click HERE.   If you're interested in learning more about NC Kids Digital Library by watching a short video, click HERE.

StudentAccess participants also have access to our collection of Online Resources.   This includes our collection of databases, study guides, and much more.  Click HERE to learn more about our Online Resources.   If you're ready to get started using NCLive or simply want to learn more about that resource, click HERE to see a great selection of short how-to tutorials.  You will need to log in using your student ID to access these resources.

If you're an educator, you have also been given a StudentAccess account.  If you're unsure of your account number, contact your administrator. The educator default pin is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

Please note- to access resources through NC Live, you no longer enter ARLS followed by your id number.

We are excited to provide this service to our local educators and public school students!  We are working to plan and provide training to parents, teachers, and students.  Please check back for new and additional resources.  If you have questions or would like to schedule a training session with a librarian, please contact Suzanne Moore, Wilkes County Librarian, 336-838-2818 ext 241.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services
