Join us for our next installment of the WCHS Speaker Series as we welcome Reverend Wesley Smith to discuss the history of Three Forks Baptist Association.
Topics will include the role of the faith community in the nation’s history along with tracking the Great Awakening movement from the northeast to south, and finally westward. Smith will also speak on a history of Baptist associations and how the churches in this area came from the Jersey Settlement. The Three Forks Baptist Association was formed in 1841 when 10 churches left the Mountain Baptist Association to focus on prayer, missions, evangelism and Christian Education. This event will take place in the Watauga County Public Library Meeting Room on October 13 at 6pm. It will also be broadcasted to Digital Watauga’s Facebook Page at the time of the event.
