We were pleased to host two interns from Appalachian State University's Social Work Program during the Spring of 2021. They were available to provide referrals to various services (food, clothing, shelter, etc.); assist with completing applications, building resumes, and job searching; assist with finding information about colleges; talk about your feelings and offer relaxation tips; and much more. They have moved on in their social work journey, but they have left us with a great resource--a guide to Wilkes Community Resources. Resources listed provide assistance with everything from abuse to utilities and rent assistance.
Ready to get some dirt under your fingernails? Find what you need in our seed library. Seeds are free, but please take only what you'll use. Information is available about growing, seed varieties, and seed saving.
Story Walks take the joy of reading outdoors! Experience a story as you take a stroll or explore a park. Each story board also contains literacy tips for caregivers.
