ACPL Teen Area

Hang out in the teen area, check out the manga selections, or use computers to play games (or, ahem, do homework). Our library staff host regular tween and teen programs as well as special events (like Sundae Wars and Library Lock-ins). If you want your voice to be heard, join the Teen Listening Council (TLC), and tell us what you want to see in your library.

Click here for our event schedule or call the library at 336.846.2041, option 3 to get the most updated information about tween events & programs at the library.

Programs & events for tweens include Maker Monday, Ashe County Drama Club, activity kits, and more. Visit Ashe County Public Library Online for our online events and activities.

Computers & Wifi

There are four desktop computers just for teens, and you can use your personal computers and devices to connect to the library's wifi network. This is a two-step process. First, connect to the Library Guest network. Then, open your browser (this may occur automatically) to view, read, and accept the Terms of Use policy. Once you have accepted the policy's terms, you will be redirected to the library website, at which point you should be fully connected to the wireless network. If you have any questions, please visit the Information Desk.

Wireless Printing

Click here to access the download page for the wireless printing client.

Follow the instructions below to print from your personal laptop within the confines of the library.

  1. Visit the link above and download the installation file for your Windows or Apple computer.
  2. Once you have downloaded the file, open it to install the LPT:One Print client.
  3. Once it runs, you will see Black and White and Color Printers installed under your Printers and Faxes.
  4. Bring up the document you wish to print. Click print and select Black and White or Color.
  5. Type in your user ID or name when prompted (this can be your name or library card number, just make sure to remember what you typed as you will need it to retrieve the print job).
  6. Visit the downstairs check-out desk or the upstairs self-release print terminal to pay for and pick up your print job.
