All Appalachian Regional Library locations will be closed on Friday, April 3rd, and Saturday, April 4th in observance of the Easter Holiday.
Meeting and Study Rooms
Meeting spaces are primarily for the use of the library and for Friends of the Library organizations or other groups whose sole purpose is to support the library. When not being used for library purposes, meeting rooms may be used without charge for non-profit community groups, organizations, civic associations and government groups located in Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes counties.
The Evelyn Johnson Meeting Room can accommodate 100 people, has kitchen facilities with a microwave, and a screen/projection capability. Tables and chairs are available.
Three small study rooms that can accommodate two people each are located in the Reference/Computer Lab area; one has a computer. We also have three mini-conference rooms! These conference rooms are soundproof and have an airflow system for privacy and comfort. They're great for small meetings, tele-health appointments, job interviews, or tutoring. One of the three is wheelchair accessible. When not reserved, rooms are available on a first-come, first served basis and sign-in is required. To reserve a room, ask at the Adult Services desk or call (828) 264-8784 ext. 2. The mini-conference rooms are supported by grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the federal Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
